Some of my very good friends throw a really fun 4th of July party every year. Even though it's already well into summer by then, it really helps kick off the summer barbecue and party season for us! It's a fun pot-luck and great time to hang out with friends, let the kiddos swim in the pool, and enjoy each other's company! This year was our daughter's first time going - last year she was only 10 days old on the 4th so we stayed home! We really enjoyed bringing her and letting her play with the other kids at the party! She was so cute I almost immediately scrapped pics of her from the day:

Awesome SS!

I had so much fun hosting my first SS! This is the LO I made this morning that I based my instructions off of. It's been really cool to see what people come up with using my instructions! Digi-Scrapping column...

A friend of mine asked me to write a "guest column" on her blog about digi-scrapping. I have a couple weeks to put something together, so I thought I'd ask around for some tips. Please feel free to answer any or all of my questions!

1. If you were talking to someone who is BRAND NEW to digi-scrapping, what's the best tip you would tell them?

2. How do you find inspiration for a LO?

3. What's your digi-scrap organization style?

I got on another CT!!

A couple days ago I found this great designer Sarah Bennett through the Ikeagoddess' blog and noticed that she was having a CT call. I applied thinking it couldn't hurt just to apply.. and today I found out I got on her CT!! She just started selling at Funky Playground Designs. I LOVE her designs and can't wait to get started scrapping with her kits!! Yay for CTs!! Click on the image above to go to her blog, or click HERE to go to her store at the Funky Playground!

It's OVER! I can't believe it. In one month I made 140 layouts. This was awesome! We won't know how the winners are until the end of the week, probably.. it's going to be a long week! If you'd like to see all of my layouts, go HERE.

What I made on Thursday:

I'm currently working on my Project 365 LO's, so if I get caught up on those by the end of this weekend (which is my goal..) I'll post a slideshow of them all, because it's a lot! Aaaand, I'm hoping that making them will take me from the current #7 spot in the QOS challenge to at least the top three! We shall see!!

I can't keep up!

Some of the girls over at SM have over 20 LO's already! So far I only have nine. I wanted to get three more done tonight, but every attempt ended in hideous disaster. I just closed PSE and will try again tomorrow. These four LO's are from yesterday and today.

At least I'm getting Emily's baby book done.

Queen of Scraps

So, I'm trying to win Queen of Scrap over at Scrap Matters. So far, along with the "roll on over" LO below, I've made five LOs. There are girls that have made way more though, so I need to step it up! Hopefully I can get more done tonight!

A fun SS!

Holy crap, it has been SO long since I last scrapped. But, Melanie convinced me to do a SS tonight on ScrapMatters, and this is what I came up with! Now I want to win Queen of Scrap.. but that means I need to do a LOT more scrapping!!

Melanie's Inspiration Point challenge.

Melanie is in charge of a challenge at ScrapMatters.com called Inspiration Point. Basically, she found a non scrapbooking picture from somewhere on the web, and the challenge is to create a LO inspired by that picture. It's pretty open to interpretation.. you can just use it to get colors for your LO, do a blended photo, whatever you want. I loved the look of this photo, though, and I wanted to use the idea of the grey side and greener sides somehow in a picture. I love how my LO eventually turned out.

Here is the inspiration picture. Doesn't it look so cool?

I found this picture to work with. It's from our trip to the Sequoias last summer when everyone was here on the weekend of Emilly's blessing.

I started a new document in PSE, put the picture in, and got out some brush strokes. Then I layered a B&W version of the picture over the brush strokes in the top right corner, and then a green tinted version of the picture over some more brush strokes in the bottom left corner. It's kind of subtle, but I love how it turned out! Can you see the difference?

I really love my finished LO, too! Everything for the whole LO came from different Erica Zane kits. I love her stuff. And I think the page is so pretty!! What do you think??

Desing Star at SM

Okay, so there's an awesome designer challenge over at ScrapMatters.com. They're looking for new designers, and this week the contestants are uploading mini kits based on THESE great colors:

Back to scrappin'!

I've returned! The computer problems are (almost) fixed! Peter's got all my files onto a laptop he got from his dad and fixed up.. it needs more memory, but otherwise works great! So I took it for a test drive tonight and made this cute LO! (And yes, I used the same kit in this LO as I did for my blog BG! Haha, I love Erica Zane..) The computer problems will be even more fixed one Peter builds the new computer, and installs wireless into the laptop - then I can scrap from the living room while watching TV! That will be awesome! I'm just happy that I can scrap again!

Busted...

Peter has been working on the computer. It's got a virus and the hard drive needs to be wiped clean. He moved all of my important files (LO's, pictures of the baby, and scrapbooking kits) to an external hard drive last night.. Unfortunately, I'm unable to scrap until further notice. That means I probably even have to miss Melanie's speed scrap tonight! I'm so bummed!! Hopefully everything will be fixed soon...
